THE RIVER OF A FOOL
With his narrow mind and his mouth open
wide
His thoughts were shallow, never ran deep
A still body, he never could decide
Never went anywhere, even when asleep
He could flow only one way
Going somewhere, but never knowing where
Just floating day by day
It would take a prayer to get him there
From bank to bank, but never knew where he was at
His soul he had drowned, his heart had set sail
In the river of forget about that
And in a stream where most fools fail
One day a raging river, the next day a gentle stream
Like a child out of school
Life was nothing but a daydream
And drowned in the river of a fool
