You Can’t Change The World

You can’t change the world, so don’t try
You can’t stop the wind, just let her blow
If you try to change the world, it will spit in your eye
And no matter what you do, the wind will blow

People are going to think the way that they will
You just have to try to live around them, that is, if you can
‘Cause the world will never stand still
Just spinning like an old fan

We were all put here for a reason, don’t know why
Maybe it takes some of us a long time to figure this out
Why some laugh, and why some have to cry
I guess that’s what it’s all about

Leave Mother Nature be, she’s doing all right
And let God be in the world he created for you and me
All the stars in the Heavens, that’s why they shine so bright
Just angels looking down on you and me

It’s not our job to change the world, that’s for God to do
But some don't think this way
And that’s sad, that’s not what God wanted for me and you
If the world is to be changed, let it be by God's way

Let the wind blow an old dried up tumbleweed where it will
Let lighting strike, thunder roll, and the raindrops fall
And let a sweet breeze turn an old windmill
Tear drops from Heaven for us all

This old world was planned out, before you and I got here
Some may alter it for awhile, but change it they never will
I think God made that pretty clear
And one day, God is going to get his fill

That’s when the world will change, like a thief in the night
And for some, there will be Hell to pay
If you believe in God, I reckon you’ll be alright
You can’t change the world, but by God, we can pray
