ON THE DAY THAT I DIE

On the day that I die, I know that there will be that day
Like all of us, we will go before our maker
We have to wonder, just what will he have to say
On that final day, when we meet the maker

I have thought about this, on that day, what will I say
Will he be mad at me, or will he forgive me of my sin
He is the Judge on my Judgment day
I pray to be in Heaven, will he let me in

It is a courtroom as I have never seen before
I could feel justice here, no lawyers were around
God is the Judge, the one that I am before
All I could feel was love and I knew that I was on his ground

He was a stern old man of many years, he made us all, you and me
He looked at me, he knew my story before I even got there
Son, by the marks in your books, I am going to let you live here with me
I always heard your prayers

But today, just come on in, you are home with all of us here in Heaven
All of the strife just seemed to float away, as the angels came to me
A peaceful site, as I was about to enter Heaven
As the angels came for me, I knew now that I was finally free
